These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Vitrapept website and your purchase of any product from us. By browsing this site or placing an order you confirm that you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
Vitrapept is operated by [Registered company name], [Registered address], company number [Company number]. References to “we”, “us” and “our” mean that company.
1. Research use only
This is the most important term on this page. Every product sold by Vitrapept is supplied strictly for laboratory and research purposes. Our products are not for human or animal consumption, and they are not medicines, supplements, cosmetics or food.
Our products have not been evaluated by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) or the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Nothing on this site is medical advice, a dosing recommendation, or a claim that any product diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents any condition.
By placing an order you confirm that:
- You are a qualified researcher, or are purchasing on behalf of a research organisation, and are competent to handle the materials safely.
- You will use the products only for in vitro laboratory research, and never in or on humans or animals.
- You will not resell, relabel or supply the products for human or animal use.
- You are responsible for handling, storage, containment and disposal in line with the rules that apply to your laboratory.
If we have reason to believe an order is intended for human or animal use, we may cancel it and decline future orders.
2. Age requirement
You must be 18 years of age or over to use this site or place an order. We ask you to confirm your age before entering the store. We may cancel any order where we believe this requirement has not been met.
3. Your account
You may order as a guest or through an account. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity that happens under it. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
4. Products, testing and certificates of analysis
Our compounds are sourced from verified research manufacturers under quality control, and every batch is independently tested by a third party laboratory. Testing covers purity by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), identity by mass spectrometry, heavy metals and endotoxins.
The certificate of analysis for each batch is published on this site and can be reached by scanning the QR code on the vial label. A certificate describes the batch it names and no other batch. Where a certificate is still being finalised, the product page says so.
Product images are illustrative. Vial appearance, fill and labelling may vary between batches.
5. Orders and acceptance
Your order is an offer to buy. A contract is formed only when we send an order confirmation or dispatch the goods, whichever happens first. We may decline or cancel an order, in whole or in part, where:
- The item is out of stock, or a batch has been withdrawn.
- A price or description was published in error.
- We cannot verify your details, or payment is declined.
- We believe the order breaches these terms or applicable law.
- Shipping to your location is restricted.
If we cancel an order you have already paid for, we refund it in full.
6. Prices and payment
Prices are shown in the currency displayed at checkout and may change without notice, although a change does not affect an order we have already confirmed. Unless stated otherwise, prices exclude shipping, and exclude any customs duty, import VAT or handling fee charged in your country.
We accept the payment methods shown at checkout, which include major card networks, bank transfer and cryptocurrency. Checkout is encrypted and we do not store full card numbers.
7. Shipping and delivery
Orders placed on a working day are normally dispatched within 24 hours. Delivery within the EU normally takes 2 to 4 business days with full tracking. Tracked EU shipping is free on orders over €150.
Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery. Please give a complete and accurate delivery address, because we cannot redirect a parcel once it has been dispatched.
8. Import, customs and local law
You are responsible for checking that the products you order may lawfully be imported and held in your country, and for holding any licence or authorisation your work requires. You are also responsible for any customs duty, import VAT or handling charge.
We are not liable where a shipment is delayed, seized or destroyed by customs or another authority, and an order in that situation is not automatically refundable.
9. Returns and refunds
Cancellations, returns and refunds are covered by our Refund and Returns Policy, which forms part of these terms.
10. Acceptable use of this site
You agree not to:
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of these terms.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers or any connected system.
- Introduce malicious code, or interfere with the operation or security of the site.
- Scrape, copy or republish site content, certificates or product data for commercial use without our written permission.
- Misrepresent our products, testing or certificates, including any suggestion that they are fit for human or animal use.
11. Intellectual property
The Vitrapept name, logo, site design, text, photography and certificate presentation are owned by us or licensed to us, and are protected by intellectual property law. You may view and print pages for your own research records. You may not otherwise reproduce or distribute them without our written permission.
12. Disclaimers
The site and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error free, or that content, including reference material and calculator output, is complete or suitable for your particular work.
The reconstitution calculator is a convenience tool. You are responsible for checking any figure it produces before relying on it in your research.
To the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose, except for those that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any loss arising from use of a product otherwise than for laboratory research.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or loss of research time or materials.
- Our total liability in connection with any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against any claim, loss or cost arising from your breach of these terms, and in particular from any use of our products in or on humans or animals.
15. Privacy
How we handle personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page when you place an order is the version that applies to that order. The date at the top shows when this page last changed.
17. Severability and waiver
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. If we do not enforce a term straight away, that is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
18. Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising from them, are governed by the law of [Governing law country], and the courts of [Jurisdiction] have exclusive jurisdiction. If you buy as a consumer, this does not remove the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.
